lets keep the ball rolling! this time im gonna install a pivotal seat so we can finally flip the bike upside down and let it rest on the bars and seat. pivotal seats are a new development in bmx largely due to the recent trend in trying to build the lightest bike possible (which is getting out of hand). instead of a standard seat with two metal rails on the underside that are attached to the seat post, a pivotal seat is basically a seat with a bolt in it and a seatpost with a hole in it. there are also grooves in the seat and seatpost that line up and match up, like puzzle pieces from the clay…ha.

in this update im gonna put the handlebars on the fork i just installed, and show you an easy way to put grips on.

my bars are dragonfly mike s lite, and is zero offset like the fork is. this is accomplished through combining the handlebars and stem (traditionally used to attach handlebars to from the fork) into one piece so the handlebars run flush with the side-profile of the fork and frame headtube. bar-stem combos are becoming a bit more popular in flatland due to its lighter weight compared to a traditional stem and bar setup (also for me they are cheaper haha). however, there are always concerns of bar-stem combos being hazardous to your fork and frame since they are directly attached and any impact could hurt the frame and/or fork.
