Hey guys, I still have a few “interviews” that I did over the summer.  I’m going to roll some dice and choose a random one to post tomorrow. Until then, you can check out the very first performance that Bulletproof Funk did—this one is as hilarious as they get

We put this show together the day or two before the performance—not much has changed HAHAHAHA. I think our group had already been an official student group since the Spring semester before this and we were an unofficial group (or a failed BU Bboy student group HAHA) scavenging for practice spots for about a year before that.  We realized there were probably a lot of students at BU interested in bboying or popping but didn’t know about our really low-key group.  So we ventured out to the Fall Activities Expo to advertise and get more people to our open practice!!!  We kept doing guerilla shit like this for another year before people started actually coming to practice and some new people came to learn!

Hey guys! I’ve got a big exam next week so won’t be able to post any entries for a little bit. Thought I’d at least post an old photo so you have something to look at. Here’s a picture from Turbomania in 2007 (Tufts University intercollegiate bboy battle and crew vs crew poppin’ battle).

April 2007 007

At this battle, a young Bulletproof Funk teamed up with Losst Unnown (me, Greg, Sam, Mitch, Fadayz, D-Rok, Tross) to battle against Slaughterhouse (Onion, Jedi Nice, Flowboy, Mighty Cyrus, Silent Soulja, Lady Beast) in a bizarre way-too-many-commandoes competition. Alex, George, Duke, AJ, and Tommy also entered the collegiate breaking competition.

Yo Alex, let me ask you something…

I first met Alex in 2005 when we were freshmen living in the Towers dormitory.  I’ll always remember the girthiness of his calf muscles.  Along with Duke and AJ, we eventually formed the BU Bboy Club but were dismissed from FitRec for various violations.  In 2007, we formed a new group called Bulletproof Funk and the rest is history.

Figure 1. The name “Bulletproof Funk” was Alex’s idea.  This photo is a reenactment of the enormous brain-effort required to manifest such a great name.

Well, let’s start the interview!…
