*edit* what sort of content would you like to see on this blog? (interviews, general status updates, opinions, brain dumps etc?) post in comments and we can do it

————————————–

yo i just remembered about the blog and checked in to see no posts recently.  i’m in the middle of sorting new music—i just download stuff from online constantly and have to sort several gigs of music every month or so. for dancing music i try to organize the music as specific as i can into a bunch of different categories  then into playlists that have names that dont make sense (ie. space mode, walky walky, practice general, groovy potatoes) but they make sense to me

anyways i’ve been doin the school thing and working part time and it actually makes it easier to practice every day because i know i dont have time to fuck around so i just dont and practice instead.  been try to make a lot of changes to my approach towards dancing and poppin–i’ve gotten some great advice from people.

recently i was kind of scared that my time with poppin may be becoming limited just because of work hours after school is over in a few years. makes me want to dance now while i still have time…not in a impending-doom kind of way. but in a time is precious live in the moment sort of way. so ive been having a good time recently—staying busy and just loving what i do

ah, also just remembered that this isnt a personal blog. i’ll write about some stuff about bulletproof funk. um.

so this group has done a lot of growing since 2006ish and its nice.  the group has taught me a lot about myself and about what i love about poppin. people know that i’m not into performances and that all i really care about for this group is that we can host a practice for people to come to.   right now, its great to see people come to practice like its nothing and like its always been there—they can meet people, learn, get down to new music.   i think that as long as there’s an open practice here, it adds a kind of beauty to the community. no frills no committments to anybody but the dance and your own growth. no pressure no politics–just an outlet/an opportunity and it is whatever you want it to be. that’s what i’ve come to think about bulletproof funk and its everything that i want right now. it doesn’t matter to me where this group came from or where its going–it doesnt matter to me if its this group or another one…as long as theres a place for people to get down then youre doing it right
